PROUDLY SERVING SERVICE DOG HANDLERS IN:
Seizure Response Service Dog Training
Living with a seizure disorder requires constant awareness, preparation, and safety protocols. At Meika's Helping Paws, our seizure response service dog training focuses on building a dependable partnership that helps manage emergencies, increase safety, and foster independence.
- Alert & Response Skills: Perform trained alert behaviors prior to an episode (if scent-capable) and physical cushioning during a seizure.
- Emergency Assistance: Trigger emergency alert systems, retrieve rescue medication, or alert family members and bystanders.
- Post-Seizure Recovery: Provide Deep Pressure Therapy (DPT) to assist with recovery and guide handlers to safe locations.
Goal: Help clients and families gain practical support for greater daily peace of mind.
How Can A Seizure Response Service Dog Help?
Seizure response service dogs are trained around the handler's individual medical needs and environment. Depending on the training plan, a service dog may perform specific physical responses, emergency assistance tasks, and safety alerts that support greater security at home and in public.
